AI IN PROCUREMENT“ AI is not just another software layer. It changes the nature of risk. A traditional application processes information, but an AI system may also absorb patterns, evolve behaviour and generate outputs that are difficult to explain. That makes governance, data handling, transparency and oversight central to the buying decision,” says Eric.
The greater risk is not adopting AI too early. It is adopting AI without guardrails and clarity of controls and oversight, especially when AI’ s currency is data, trust and decision integrity.“ In the coming years, the strongest organisations will be the ones that learn to procure AI not simply for performance, but for accountability,” says Eric.
The value of a strong governance framework AI compliance is becoming a competitive advantage, and increasingly a decisive one. For a long time, compliance has been seen as a cost: necessary, important, but rarely strategic.“ AI changes that equation,” says Eric“ In an AI-driven market, trust becomes a commercial differentiator. Clients are not just asking whether a solution works; they are asking whether it is governable, explainable, auditable and safe to deploy in the real world.” This is where mature compliance becomes a business advantage.
