You could do a technical audit and benchmark to identify your system ’ s capabilities against industry standards and best practices , However , this can lead to looking at things for the sake of looking at them . One recommendation is to simply do a whiteboarding exercise with a trusted advisor . This person can be from a technology or consulting company and can help identify where things could be better .
In technology , many companies follow the ‘ fail fast ’ mantra . This is the way that Amazon , Apple and many others have developed their systems over years yet have availability and implementation timelines of a few weeks . Technology is moving so fast that if you continue to constantly evaluate and analyse you will simply fall behind and never take advantage of the newest technology trends .”
