SUSTAINABILITY

Regenerative agriculture has evolved from an abstract idea into a proven, future-focused approach to farming. As defined by One

Planet Business for Biodiversity( OP2B), regenerative farming works to enhance the farm ecosystem through nature-based solutions rather than depleting it.
Two leaders in this space are PepsiCo and Unilever, who launched the Supporting Trusted Engagement and Partnership( STEP) up for Agriculture( STEP up for Ag), a pre-competitive initiative designed to strengthen the capacity and sustainability of farmer-facing support organisations across North America.
Investing in the organisations that support farmers Speaking at its launch, PepsiCo Chief Sustainability Officer Jim Andrew said:“ PepsiCo is rooted in agriculture and farmers are at the heart of our food systems. STEP up for Ag is about investing in the organisations that support farmers every day, aiming to ensure they can grow, innovate and lead the transition to more sustainable agriculture.
“ When farmers thrive, we all thrive.” Jim also announced that PepsiCo is nearly doubling its regenerative agriculture footprint in Canada, adding 240,000 acres.
He said:“ Canada’ s agricultural contributions are critical for our business and the global food system.
