Sustainability at the core At Nestlé, sustainable sourcing is not simply an add-on or a corporate social responsibility exercise.
Instead, the approach is now deeply woven into procurement strategy.
“ Sustainable sourcing is a strategic imperative that aligns with our vision of creating a food system that is good for consumers, for communities and for the planet,” Jacob goes on.“ This is why sustainable sourcing is embedded in our procurement strategy and core to how we operate.”
The results demonstrate tangible progress. In 2024, Nestlé successfully reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 20.38 % compared to its 2018 baseline. Remarkably, this milestone was achieved one year ahead of target, with procurement playing the dominant role.
“ This demonstrates how central procurement and sourcing are to achieving our Net Zero by 2050 ambition,” adds Jacob.
