COVID-19 created an environment where prices were skyrocketing , and there were shortages of supply and difficulties in transportation , intensifying the need for strong partnerships with suppliers .
Ahlsell engaged with both employees and suppliers in a stakeholder survey to identify opportunities for process optimisation and digitalisation . The survey revealed that employees wanted better product data , while suppliers indicated that everything worked fine , highlighting complacency and a lack of innovation .
