BECOMING A GLOBAL EVENTS LEADER: GLEN WHITE, BIZCLIK CEO

began as a reactive pivot during the pandemic has evolved into a cornerstone of BizClik’s global strategy. The company’s highly successful LIVE event series – spanning procurement, supply chain, sustainability, technology and fintech – has rapidly become one of the most anticipated events on the annual calendar.

The choice of location paid off. Attracting more than 2,500 attendees, the co-located event took place over three distinct stages. “It was incredible – our team worked tirelessly to pull this off,” Glen says.

What

“We had more than 60 really top level executive speakers from some of the world’s largest corporations.”

Speakers include chief procurement officers and senior executives from major corporations such as American Express, MasterCard, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Walgreens and Siemens.

“The pandemic drove our clients to ask for us to do virtual events, which we did because they needed the leads and we needed the business,” Glen recalls, discussing the origins of the LIVE series. “We quickly found out that we were pretty good at it.”

The event underscored the now critical nature of sustainability in global supply chains, highlighting its role as a strategic enabler issue across all industries.

BizClik launched its first in-person conference, Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE, in September 2021. “It was the first time people had been to any physical event since the lockdown,” says Glen. “It was quiet to begin with, but it got us going.”

The business case for sustainability At the core of BizClik’s events is the argument for embedding sustainability into business. Glen recounts a comment from a major speaker at a previous event – “welcome to capitalism” – underlining how sustainability has become a business necessity.

Expanding to Chicago On 28-29 May, BizClik took over Chicago, with Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE and Sustainability LIVE hosted at the iconic Willis Tower.

“Sustainability needs to be embedded into the business strategy,” he says. “Unsustainable business is no longer sustainable.”

Glen highlights Chicago’s strategic advantages, describing it as “a great hub for people to come from the east coast as well as the west coast. It’s an industrial heartland of the US.”
