Through its Responsible Sourcing Requirement, Nestlé helps to enhance quality of life for everyone – today and for generations to come

Nestlé’ s responsible sourcing framework centres on its core mission to enhance quality of life through food while building sustainable systems for future generations. The company has established comprehensive Responsible Sourcing Core Requirements that all supply chain partners must follow.

These requirements align with major international frameworks including the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, the International Bill of Human Rights and International Labour Organisation principles. The standards integrate with Nestlé’ s broader sustainability initiatives such as its Human Rights Framework, Net Zero Roadmap, Agriculture Framework and Forest Positive Strategy. Nestlé’ s approach operates on two levels: direct supply chain management through risk assessment, monitoring and reporting; and collaborative engagement to address systemic environmental and social challenges. The company recognises that complex sustainability issues require long-term, customised interventions targeting root causes rather than surface-level fixes.
All supply chain actors, whether directly or indirectly involved, must comply with these requirements, which form integral parts of supplier contracts. This comprehensive framework aims to transform production practices positively impacting people, nature and climate while advancing regenerative food systems at scale.

“Our mission is to advance regenerative food systems at scale. Achieving this is not without challenges”
