AI HYPE VS. REALITY
The line between AI innovation and marketing hype comes down to one question: can the customer see and feel the value? Real innovation is built around clearly defined agentic AI use cases that solve specific business problems, eliminate manual work and deliver measurable outcomes.“ Anything else is just a feature looking for a purpose,” says Ari.
Equally important is the vendor’ s AI roadmap. Organisations aren’ t just investing in technology for today; they’ re choosing a partner for the next five to ten years.
“ They need confidence in where that company is headed, how AI will be implemented and how those capabilities will evolve over time,” says Ari.
Agreeing, Emily adds:“ The AP space is particularly vulnerable to hype because the pain points are well-known, which makes it easy to build a compelling demo without building a compelling product. When every vendor leads with AI, the word stops meaning anything. The question to ask is always: where does the AI intervene, what decision does it make or inform and how does that change the result?”
