GLOBALITY Bristol Myers Squibb is evidence of how Globality can help. In its first six months on the Glo platform, BMS sourced more than US $ 1bn in spend and captured more than US $ 100m in savings.
“ That’ s what happens when procurement is empowered with the right AI sourcing platform,” Joel says.
Using‘ should-cost benchmarks’ to decide what to source When exploring what counts as sourcing, Joel cast a wide net. He explained how Glo Intake acts as a conversational front door that reads what an employee is trying to buy and compares it against the company’ s procurement policies to determine the best course of action. It also calculates a“ should-cost baseline,” derived from spend history and market data.
Joel argues that market benchmarks matter more now than they used to:“ Between inflation, tariffs and supply chain bottlenecks, the world is increasingly unpredictable, and historical pricing alone just isn’ t reliable anymore.”
If the platform identifies sub-optimal pricing, it can flip the request into an RFx and invite suppliers, so that the purchase is competitively sourced. If the supplier proposal is missing an important detail, Glo will ask the supplier follow-up questions to ensure it has everything it needs for a team to make a decision.
Joel explained that AI negotiates with suppliers.“ Negotiation doesn’ t start when Glo starts talking to a supplier. It starts earlier, with a strategy. Before Glo even contacts a supplier, it creates a sourcing and negotiation strategy. It understands the requirement, the business objective, the commercial priorities and the trade-offs that matter.
