Therefore, designing for end-of-life requires a systematic approach.“ It’ s not simply a question of replacing one material with another,” says Dane.“ We need to understand how alternative materials perform in manufacturing, whether they maintain product integrity over time and how they interact with collection, sorting and recycling systems.”
