THE PROCUREMENT INTERVIEW

Nithin Mummaneni is the founder and CEO of Infinity Loop, an AI-native negotiation intelligence platform, which works to automatically identify savings opportunities in any third-party contract. Nithin used to be a management consultant, working for a range of organisations across the Fortune 500, as well as private equity funds, to help restructure their businesses. In this role he would go in, identify contracts, renegotiate on their behalf and charge a percentage of the savings. To Nithin,“ that model made zero sense to me, because we were often charging tens of millions of dollars, it didn’ t make any sense.”

From here he set about on a mission to create Infinity Loop, to democratise that expertise in software form. Now as an annual subscription, it has trained a machine learning model that’ s dynamic, that understands purchasing behaviours, whatever the good or service, and drives savings.“ It tells you how much opportunity there is in terms of savings, and then gives you the specific strategies to go and execute, from a negotiation playbook perspective,” Nithin adds.
“ We create those and provide the opportunity to the team, as well as the strategies for them to go and execute. It’ s all about providing the right information at the right time for the teams to go and execute.“ Then we track all of that, so you have that knowledge store of negotiation moving forward. We’ re the system of intelligence for that”.

“Nobody’ s going to trust a bot to negotiate a million-dollar contract”

Speaking to Procurement Magazine, Nithin explores how Infinity Loop is using AI to close the negotiation gap left by legacy P2P and CLM systems, why the platform focuses on high-value strategic deals rather than tail spend and what it will take for autonomous negotiation to earn enterprise trust in the years ahead.
What’ s the gap in the procurement market that Infinity Loop is solving? The P2P systems have their own legacy workflow of going through the approval chain and connecting to invoice management. That’ s fine and well. On the CLM side, you had folks focusing purely on the legal aspect and redlining. As a former practitioner, I’ d try to create negotiation playbooks before going in and negotiating deals myself, in Excel, in email, sometimes on a piece of paper, figuring out my strategy points, what I needed to hit home, what was actually market, and how to structure the deal appropriately. All of that was manual, and that’ s what we’ ve now automated in a data-backed way.
