PROCUREMENT STRATEGY
THE NEW PROCUREMENT ACT
The Procurement Act 2023 is aimed at enhancing transparency , efficiency and flexibility in procurement across the UK public sector . The hope is that it will promote better value for money and increase opportunities for everyone . It includes new notices for publishing procurements , a central supplier register , flexible procurement processes and post-contract reporting provisions . The legislation is due to be implemented on a phased basis from 28 October , with further parts of the legislation rolling out in 2025 . Businesses are being encouraged to register with the Supplier Information Service to stay up to date and use pipelines for strategic planning .
Atamis is providing support to businesses to adapt to these changes in the following areas :
• Transparency : Increased opportunities for wider supplier engagement and more flexibility to follow the most effective and efficient procurement processes to meet the needs of a project .
• New Notices : Introduction of new notices for publishing upcoming procurements and the awarding of contracts to support greater transparency .
• Central Supplier Register : A new register to support transparency and enable suppliers to store key data centrally and share it with public sector buyers more easily .
• New Processes : Support for greater flexibility to ensure public sector buyers can use the most effective and efficient procurement process for the project , focusing on quality , value for money and supplier capabilities .
• Post-Contract Transparency : Provisions to report on payments , compliance and performance .
• Legislation Rollout : New procurement processes and noticing regime from 28 October , with pipeline and contract performance following next year .
