INTAKE & ORCHESTRATION Zach Hemmant-Low, Chief Sales Officer, Rossum

Tell us about Rossum We are an AI-first IDP, or Intelligent Document Processing technology. We are about nine years old. We were founded in the Czech Republic by our three founders. They were AI PhD students and they ' ve essentially just worked for the last nine years to remove the idea of manual document processing. They initially started with data extraction, focusing on that piece, and then moved into end-to-end automation.
Huge week for Rossum, with the announcement of Coupa ' s acquisition of Rossum. How significant is that for you guys and what does it mean? It feels like the next phase of our journey. We ' ve been partners with Coupa for two and a half years now. I think the symbiosis between the two businesses has always been incredible.
What is it that Rossum specifically brings to the table that has clearly caught Coupa ' s eye? For us, we have a proprietary transactional Large Language Model. That is our language model which has been trained on all of the documents that we ' ve seen over the past nine years. That ' s billions worth of transactional data.
What that means for Coupa customers as part of our partnership is that as we look at what Coupa really focuses on – the end-to-end journey from procurement but also an invoicing lifecycle – Rossum comes in as that ingestion layer for things like emails, PDFs, scans and e-invoices. We process them in any language, any shape or any size to truly automate that end-to-end journey.
I think this was a very natural evolution of what has been a fantastic partnership. We share roughly 50 to 75 shared customers, depending on how you slice and dice the data. But if you look at Coupa ' s customer base of just over 3,000 customers, the power that we can then bring to the rest of that customer base is incredibly exciting.
