PROCUREMENT STRATEGY

Should procurement be more embedded in the enterprise?

Procurement’ s moderate strategic involvement( 3.7 / 5) suggests significant progress but highlights an incomplete evolution. While the function is shedding its transactional past, it hasn’ t fully reached the C-suite’ s strategic core. Given today’ s volatility, procurement leaders must proactively assert their function’ s role by demonstrating value beyond cost savings, particularly through AI-driven insights and predictive risk management.
A 3.7 score shows progress, with more opportunity ahead. We must continue proving our strategic value through insights, innovation and impact.
The path forward is deeper integration, getting involved earlier, stronger cross-functional partnerships and also ensuring our voice is not only heard but is an indispensable competitive advantage.
Embedding procurement deeply into executive strategy is essential for navigating today’ s complexity, mitigating disruption and securing competitive advantage.
