The opportunity is when AI is grounded in verified business identity, ownership and risk context that organisations can defend, says Alicia. That data quality challenge begins long before AI enters the picture. Michael points to the earliest stage of supplier onboarding as a particular vulnerability.
“ The biggest operational hurdle in keeping supplier data secure is gathering the initial round of data from suppliers before they have access to a secure sign-on portal. This leads to manual-process risk in which information is exchanged person-to-person via phone or email, and there is the possibility for transcription errors or other miscommunication.”
