FORD AND RENAULT: A PARTNERSHIP FOR EUROPE
Ford Motor Company has entered a major new strategic partnership with Renault Group as part of its broader transformation plan for Europe.
The agreement underscores Ford’ s commitment to scale, affordability and speed in the next phase of its electrification and product renewal.
The collaboration covers two main areas: Ford-branded electric passenger vehicles and a joint exploration of future light commercial vehicles. Under the agreement, Ford and Renault will jointly develop two Fordbranded electric passenger vehicles on Renault’ s Ampere platform, scheduled to arrive in European showrooms in 2028. It gives Ford immediate access to established EV scale and supply chains, while allowing the brand to lead the design and driving feel of the finished products.
