of third parties against watchlists, sanctions lists and regulatory violations. When suppliers fall short and refuse to engage in resolution processes, Colgate reserves the right to place them on its‘ No Buy List’.
Tackling deforestation and forest commodities One of Colgate’ s most ambitious initiatives addresses deforestation in its supply chain.
The organisation has established no-deforestation policies covering palm oil, soy, beef tallow and paperbased packaging materials, with standalone policies for responsible palm and soy sourcing.
The approach combines multiple strategies: mapping supply chain traceability back to origin points, purchasing certified materials, implementing satellite monitoring to identify potential deforestation events and verifying supplier compliance with local regulations. In Brazil, for example, beef tallow suppliers must meet minimum criteria for industrial-scale cattle operations in the Amazon region.
Beyond monitoring, Colgate invests in transformation on the ground. The company supports five projects across Indonesia, Malaysia and Latin America focused on environmental and social improvements while building responsible production capabilities among smallholders and farmers.
Through membership in the Consumer Goods Forum’ s Forest Positive Coalition, Colgate collaborates with more than 20 leading companies to accelerate the removal of deforestation from commodity supply chains.
