PROCUREMENT TECHNOLOGY
Steven Linville, VP and Corporate Controller, Health Alliance Plan
What are the key messages you’ re hearing at Zycus Horizon? The energy and the enthusiasm around really leaning into AI has been incredible. You hear it from a variety of different perspectives, not just Zycus, but all the folks that are currently using Zycus or have interest in considering Zycus. I’ m really excited about how we can make our companies better by leveraging technologies to be smarter, faster, more intuitive and really add value.
You’ ve recently entered into a partnership deal with Zycus and are working through an implementation process. How is that going? The process is going very well. We’ re about six months in and plan to go live in about three months – perhaps a little bit less than that. It’ s really been an eye-opening experience.
We’ re really building muscle as people try to think more broadly about how older technologies can evolve into state-of-theart technologies. For some folks, it was a bit daunting and scary for them to lean into the possibilities of what we can achieve with a system like this. So, it’ s been exciting.
There’ s been a number of people that have leaned in heavily and have really been rock stars as we try to build the infrastructure so that we can be a procurement vendor management sourceto-pay solution that helps this company continue to grow and be more effective.
How much of a part did agentic AI play in your decision to choose Zycus? We looked at a number of different options as we considered the sourceto-pay solution and, ultimately, we really felt that Zycus was the most committed of the potential solutions to this space.
We felt like the user experience and how the AI was being used within Zycus was going to be a huge factor for us. The user experience was a very fragmented process. We have to be better and the Zycus solution, leveraging agentic AI, was going to allow us to really bring that value without the friction we’ ve historically had.
How are you feeling about the future of procurement at your business? With Zycus on board, I’ m pretty excited about it. We haven’ t started doing the training yet for the end users and, when they start to see how their lives are going to change, it’ s going to be really eye-opening.
I’ ve talked to a lot of our executives and senior leaders about what’ s coming, but until you see it – until you really get a chance to use it and feel it – that’ s going to be the real monumental change for us.
And I think people will feel it’ s pretty neat that we’ re finally stepping into the 21st century on infrastructure technologies like this.
