TEARING DOWN SILOS FOR BETTER SIGNAL
One of AI agents’ key benefits is how they can access critical information quickly, breaking down the silos which are so often created in an environment where data and decision-makers can be separated.
It has also opened up a more accessible workflow, as Simen highlights how the introduction of these conversational windows helps those who perhaps struggle with a dashboard interface.
This frustration from legacy ways of working was also seen at IBM, where the move to conversational interfaces emerged from internal frustration with traditional systems. In Suzanne’ s role at IBM she has seen the evolution first hand:“ Whilst the chatbots are useful at generating content or summarising content or finding content, usually that content was related to something they wanted to do. The procurement team did the same thing. So really what we needed to do some time ago was help them figure out how to take action.”
The result – a fundamental change in how procurement professionals interact with their tools and data. Rather than requiring deep system knowledge and extensive training, conversational agents enable natural language interactions that can span multiple systems and data sources simultaneously.
