really care that they didn’ t follow the process because they get their request solved, so where’ s the problem?”
AI agents eliminate this behaviour – making the official process as simple as the informal workaround, ensuring compliance whilst improving user satisfaction.
AI Adoption: No longer optional AI is set to be the driving force for significant changes in procurement operations for the foreseeable future.
Current implementations focus primarily on automating existing processes and improving information access, but future developments may fundamentally reshape how procurement work is conceptualised and executed.
“ I don’ t really think that it’ s like,‘ oh we’ re going to necessarily be much smaller teams’ because this would happen on the other side as well,” observes Simen.“ So what we already know is that some of the tenders we send out are answered at least partly by bots, right? It is an information game, it will move faster and faster and it’ ll be harder and harder to find those new opportunities.”
AI adoption in procurement will become a competitive necessity rather than merely an efficiency opportunity.
Suzanne envisions even more fundamental changes:“ I think these agents are going to show us that there’ s a lot of improvement we can make to the processes themselves and if you enable the right tooling, a better experience, we are more apt to make those changes to the processes.”
